Magnolia and Rain or Shine look to return to the front of the standings in the PBA 50th Season Philippine Cup against different foes on Friday at the Ynares Center-Antipolo.

The Hotshots meet Phoenix in the second game of the doubleheader at 7:30 p.m., after the Elasto Painters battle Terrafirma at 5:15 p.m.

Both holding 3-1 win-loss records, Magnolia and Rain or Shine were once in a company of a five-team group which occupy first place in the team standing until NLEX defeated Blackwater, 99-88, and TNT beat Meralco in overtime, 100-98, last Wednesday.

Converge is the other team which has a similar 3-1 win-loss mark.

Magnolia previously defeated Terrafirma, 104-93, last Saturday after five players scored in double digits for the Hotshots led by Mark Barroca, who had 17 points in the contest.

Rain or Shine beat Titan Ultra, 112-111, in a game to remember for the Elasto Painters when Anton Asistio was fouled while taking a four-point shot, and making all his free throws to steal the victory away from the Giant Risers.

Adrian Nocum finished with 24 points and Leonard Santillan posted 21 points in the Rain or Shine victory.

Entering their respective contests, both Terrafirma and Phoenix have similar 1-3 win-loss record and are on a two-game losing streak.

Phoenix lost to Converge, 128-114, last Saturday.
