The fight between Filipino former world champion John Riel Casimero and Luis Nery is pushing through as scheduled following weeks of uncertainty after the initial plan of April 18 staging in Kyrgyzstan fell through.
In an X post, Kameda Promotions president Koki Kameda confirmed that the event, now called “3150FIGHT 10” will be held on June 6 after mulling the possibility of the cancellation of the entire fight, citing financial reasons among other factors.
“First of all I would like to take this opportunity to offer my deepest apologies for the inconvenience and worry caused by the cancellation of the Kyrgyzstan tournament and the incidents that followed,” said Kameda.
“The Aichi event on June 6 will be held as "3150FIGHT 10. The realization of this "3150FIGHT 10" event was made possible through tremendous support from CyberAgent, amid what could be described as a desperately difficult situation,” he added following the pullout of LUSH leaving the staging of the event hanging in the balance.
The official announcement should be a big development for Casimero, who has been raring a big fight to catapult himself back into boxing relevance and earn another world title shot.
In an update through social media, Casimero has been hard on training and is actually close to reaching the weight limit for his fight against Nery.
Also seeing action in the fight card is undefeated Filipino prospect Kenneth Llover who will be taking on Michael Angeletti in an International Boxing Federation (IBF) bantamweight title eliminator
