Ivy Lacsina continues to emerge as a reliable force for Akari, delivering a career performance to put her team on the cusp of the 2026 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference semifinals.

Lacsina exploded for a career-high 30 points along with 27 excellent receptions as Akari outlasted the Choco Mucho Flying Titans, 25-15, 23-25, 25-16, 15-25, 21-19, in a gripping Play-In showdown.

“I just focused on the trust given to me by my coaches and teammates,” Lacsina said.

“I wanted to play with heart since we were already there. We knew Choco Mucho would be a tough opponent, so we really pushed ourselves and kept fighting.”

A former champion with the National University Lady Bulldogs, Lacsina continues to draw from her experience across different programs, including her stint with F2 Logistics and her development under coach Taka Minowa both with Nxled and Akari.

“I try to carry everything I’ve learned from the different systems I’ve been part of,” she said.

“This conference, I want to grow more—not just for myself, but for the team.”

Lacsina believes composure and trust are key factors in their turnaround from a 0-3 start.

“Even if we feel the intensity of the game, we have to stay calm,” she said. “If we let emotions take over, that’s when we make mistakes.”

“It really came down to trusting each other. At that point, there were no more adjustments. Coaches had already given everything, so we just relied on one another every play.”
