San Miguel has signed Marcus Lee as its import for the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) 50 Commissioner’s Cup.

The Beermen confirmed the news on their Instagram account with the squad going with a 6-foot-11 player in Lee, who will join nine-time PBA MVP June Mar Fajardo in the team’s frontcourt.

Lee already joined San Miguel’s practice on Monday at its C5 Pasig facility, which is also the first day that the Beermen returned to the court for their build-up for the Commissioner’s Cup.

The 31-year-old Lee spent most of his professional overseas career in Australia, his most recent stint being with the Cairns Taipans. He also saw action for the Melbourne United and the Tasmania Jackjumpers.

He played for US NCAA Division I schools Kentucky and California during his college tenure.

The Beermen look to have a lengthy campaign with Lee. Last season, SMB had four imports in the Commissioner’s Cup that led to the Beermen missing the playoffs.
